Universal Design. It is unacceptable that so many things around us are inaccessible to people who have slightly different abilities than most. I find it important to make sure that designs are accessible to the elderly, people who have mobility issues and differently abled individuals.
Transformation Design. Coming up with “Band-aid” solutions is pointless. It is always more productive to address the root of a problem—even if it means challenging traditional mindsets.
Sustainable Design. Designing sustainable products is a form of Precycling. If businesses and manufacturers put more effort in Precycling, Recycling their products afterwards becomes more feasible and convenient.
I enjoy solving problems—especially when it can change lives. For me, design shouldn’t be about producing products for consumers to covet—it should be about discovering solutions. I automatically look at projects as an opportunity to make a difference, whether the project brief calls for it or not. Designers and manufacturers, I think, need to realize that they are at the forefront of decision-making in society.
